As a workplace activity (or simulated workplace activity) you will need to demonstrate your ability to operate within the service environment, this should include the following tasks: D Speaking with customers in a professional and friendly manner, and providing information and advice on beverages as required D Taking orders for beverages D Using active listening to determine customer requirements D Writing orders down and noting any customer preferences D Planning work tasks and organising beverage preparations D Reading and following workplace instructions, manufacturer instructions and recipes for beverage making D Visually estimating ingredient amounts when preparing beverages or grinding coffee beans D Confidently using machinery and equipment D Making text extractions to check quality of coffee D Monitoring the grinder and espresso (when using these), and problem-solving to make adjustments or changes where necessary to ensure quality ingredients and beverages.
