You have just been appointed Senior Manager of Supply Chain, congratulations. The previous manager has disappeared, leaving behind a complex situation for you to fix. Your direct reports have brought you the following information about your firm:

• the CEO is not very well informed of how to develop the SC and its importance
• you have recently expanded quickly into international markets
• you have one, centrally located DC
• your firm has cash flow problems and the OTC process is not well defined
• the Sales and Marketing offices are located in small regional offices, not in the same place as your DC
• All SKU's are forecasted using the same method and time horizon
• SOP sessions are infrequent, poorly run and not well attended
• Customer complaints are increasing faster than the rate of growth of your firm
• You do not have a method of sharing forecast info with your suppliers and wholesale/retail customers
• E-commerce is growing rapidly and its causing operational problems in your DC that was designed for pallet/case picking only.
• your managers have a hard time figuring out what is wrong since the performance metrics are inaccurate
• you have over 400 suppliers and the CEO insists that you pick only the lowest cost suppliers
• several of your key suppliers are located in Ukraine
