Objective: To provide you with an opportunity to show you have the required skills for this unit.
This activity will enable you to demonstrate the following skills:
Reading skills
Writing skills
Initiative and enterprise skills
Planning and organising skills
Technology skills
Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering your organisational requirements.
This skills based activity will require you to carry out research and identify complex and potentially unfamiliar business and marketing information of relevance to your business. You should evaluate the potential for the implementation of any creative marketing opportunities and current and emerging technologies that are identified during the research process. You will have to provide documentary evidence of your findings.
You will now need make a marketing plan incorporating the opportunities that were evaluated during the previous activity. This plan should be implemented in accordance with organisational expectations. You should also produce a marketing report, detailing the successes and changes which may be necessary for improvement.

This activity will enable you to demonstrate the following performance evidence:
Develop a marketing strategy and plan for a product or service
Research and critically analyse internal and external business environments relevant to the above product or service
Evaluate and report on the above marketing strategy and plan
Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering your organisational requirements.
This practical activity will require you to develop a marketing strategy and plan for a product or service specified by your organisation.
The following skills should be demonstrated:
Identifying current and relevant marketing issues
Creating a detailed, realistic implementation and monitoring program, specific to the product or service
Outlining details of marketing techniques and distribution networks specific to the product or service
Identifying opportunities presented by new technologies.
It will also be necessary to research and critically analyse internal and external business environments of relevance to the product or service.
You should provide documentary evidence for the completion of this activity.
You should now carry out an evaluation and report on the success of the marketing strategy and plan developed in the previous activity.
The evaluation and report should be based on these criteria:
Consistency with overall marketing direction
Exposure achieved
Penetration of target market
Cost-effectiveness of financial and human resources
Completion of strategy within established timeframe
Recommendations for strategic responses based on evaluation.
You should provide documentary evidence in accordance with organisational expectations for the completion of this activity.
