Include two resources: one that says WHAT the theory is about, the other more focused on the practical of HOW to use it. You can propose something not in the chapter. I will say that there are really powerful theories in motivational psychology not covered in the management textbooks so you might look at it. One reason why many managers cannot motivate is they are using flawed theory or no theory. An example is Hertzberg, which made no sense when I saw it getting the MBA and still makes no sense today.
