Sobeys Inc is a Canadian grocery retailer with approximately 1,500 stores across Canada under a variety of retail banners, including Sobeys, IGA, Foodland, Thrifty Foods and FreshCo. The company is committed to people, to communities and to protecting the planet, which in turn drives their pursuit of more sustainable and ethical products that nourish everyone. A team, reporting directly to President and CEO Michael Medline, has been created specifically to focus on existing and new environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. In other to protect the planet for future generations, this team is interested in exploring the feasibility of further reducing plastics and packaging in its grocery stores. Specifically, they would like to do some research to better understand: whether grocery shoppers think enough is being done to reduce plastics and packaging in grocery stores; who brings their own bags and why, and whether they would be willing to bring their own containers for other items that might be sold in bulk (such as flour, sugar, rice); and general willingness to pay more for more sustainable packaging options (eg. for meat, drinks, etc). The purpose of the Proposal is to outline all the information necessary to understand/conduct a successful Qualitative Research Project. What are the primary and secondary objectives for the above Sobeys scenario in order to conduct a qualitative research project
