Social equity serves as the Achilles heel in society, representing the vulnerable point that, if unaddressed, can lead to systemic weaknesses. It encompasses the fair distribution of resources, opportunities, and privileges among all members of a community. When social equity is compromised, marginalized groups face obstacles in accessing education, healthcare, employment, and justice. This imbalance not only undermines the well$-$being of those directly affected but erodes the fabric of society as a whole, breeding discontent and hindering collective progress.Our rights and liberties, often perceived as universal safeguards, can be misleading in their application. While on paper, these principles promise equal protection and freedom for every individual, in reality, systemic biases and societal structures can undermine their effectiveness. Individuals from marginalized communities may find their rights disproportionately curtailed due to ingrained prejudices. Recognizing and rectifying these disparities is crucial for ensuring that the ideals of justice and liberty are not just lofty concepts but tangible realities for everyone, irrespective of their background or circumstances. This is only my opinion, but this equity topic will not be resolved for many generations.
