Solve parts D-F A saturated liquid feed of 200molh at the boiling point containing 50mol% heptane and 50mol% ethyl benzene is to be distilled at 101.32kPA abs. The distillate should be designed to contain 98mol% heptane and the bottoms containing 1 mol% heptane.
The reflux ratio to be used should be 1.8:1. Equilibrium data is given in the Table below.
Do the following:
a) Draw the schematic diagram
b) Calculate the molh of distillate and molh bottom flowrates,
c) Determine the minimum reflux ratio and the minimum number of stages
d) Determine theoretical number of trays and
e) Determine the feed tray number.
f) If the Murphree efficiency is determined to be 0.6, recalculate the number of trays required.
