The characteristic curve of a centrifugal pump running at 1300rpm can be constructed from the following table: The pump is connected to a piping system and discharges water to a tank 62m above the pump. The pump is 1.5 m above the sump and the suction pipe with its fittings has an equivalent length of 20m. The discharge pipe with its fittings has an equivalent length of 130m. The suction as well as the discharge pipes have diameters of 300 mm. Assume f=0.006 and the density as 1000kg/m3, determine: a) The discharge (volumetric flow rate), as well as pump efficiency, b) The pressure at the inlet of the pump. c) Determine the pump's operating point when operating at the speed of 1400 [0.189m3/s;76.4%] [24010Pa] [0.27m3/s;72m]
