Some critics claim that the Social Security ProgWhen I think about social security and my generation not being able to claim as much or get any money at retirement age it is because I worry about the baby boomers. "The large size of the Baby Boom generation, a low birth rate with a smaller number of workers, and people living longer than ever before will all strain the Social Security" (Novak). I think there are ways to keep helping the older generations, but also leave some money in for the younger generations as well. For example, we could increase payroll taxes so there is more money in for when we get to retirement age. But this causes other problems as well, especially because the cost of living is increasing. Overall, I do not think there is ever going to be a great plan or strategy to help Social Security. I say this because it is going to harm our society either way. Increasing payroll taxes leaves us with less money now and with the cost of living nowadays, it is already hard to make enough to live. ram will 'go broke' in a few years.
