Songkok Maju has been in business since year 1980 at Pekan Rabu building in Alor Setar Kedah. It specialises in bespoke Songkok making and Baju Melayu. Its name has been well known not only in Kedah but all over Malaysia since Pekan Rabu is a popular tourist destination. However, when the government enforced the movement control order (MCO) due to COVID-19 pandemic starting from March 18, 2020 the business has been badly impacted.
