She and Philip have been negotiating the sale of the business to Philip, and have agreed on all the terms except the price. On Day 1, Sophie makes an offer to sell for $100,000. On Day 2, Philip emails her: "Your offer is attractive, and I'm very much inclined to accept it. However, the asking price is still too high. I will seriously consider your offer only if you lower the price by at least 10\%." Sophie emails back on Day 3 : "Congrats: we have a deal. I accept your counter-offer at $90,000." Philip sends her another email on Day 4: "Hold on! Hold on! There is no deal.
