Spiral of Silence--Would you say the internet's rise helps validate and reinforce SST or does the way we use this medium bring SST into question? Why do you believe what you do?

UGT--To what degree would you say audiences are truly active and aware of how media are working on them? Do you buy this one of UGT's assumptions? Why or why not? What difference does your answer make when it comes to the question of media effects?
