In this stage, you need to seek feedback from a manager or senior colleague about how you manage relationships in the workplace. Meet with the manager or senior colleague and ask them to evaluate the way you interact with others. The focus of this stage is not on your work performance but how you work with others. (This will have to be made up)

Questions to consider include:

  • How well do you get along with others at your workplace?
  • Do you get into workplace conflicts?
  • If you have been in a conflict at work, even a verbal exchange, how was it resolved?
  • Do you find that you enjoy talking to others and making friends at work or do you often feel anxiety when faced with spending time with colleagues or speaking with customers or suppliers?
  • How do you feel in a leadership position in charge of managing others?

Required:

a) You need to provide evidence of your feedback meeting. This can be in the form of a role play of the meeting.

Stage 2 - Analyse feedback

Based on the feedback that you received in Stage 1, you need to analyse and evaluate both the feedback and the way you work with others.

Required:

b) Use Appendix A - Performance Improvement Plan Template to assist you with analysing and evaluating the feedback you received.

Cover the following areas:

  • Summarise the feedback that you received
  • Identify areas of strength and weakness
  • Plan a path forward for improving your leadership skills in the workplace
