Problem Set #2 A cycling colleague of mine recently complained to me about the "reckless" skateboarders on CU's campus. I replied by noting that I've observed cyclists on CU's campus to be far less respectful of pedestrians' safety & space than are skateboarders. My colleague was quite upset with my response, so we set about testing whether there is any difference between skateboarders' and cyclists' regard for pedestrians on CU's campus. My colleague and I observed the behavior of both skaters (n=43) and cyclists (n=50) in several areas on CU's campus. We recorded the following data pertaining to "how respectful" skaters and cyclists passed pedestrians: Skateboarder Bicyclist Disrespectful Pass 26 42 Respectful Pass 17 8
