1. Data collection is an important topic for those who conduct research. Why do you think researchers need to be concerned with issues of data collection?
2. How is the research question you pose related to data collection? What are ways you can determine the best method for addressing a research question?
3. Why might a researcher want to "pilot" data collection forms? What information can be obtained by piloting your methods prior to full implementation of your study?
4. How can you be sure that you keep your data backed up? Sometimes, it may be important to have a system for backing up your research. What possible systems might you use? (Some people actually keep their data in the refrigerator!)
5. What issues might you want to think about when planning a schedule for data collection? How will you allow for unforeseen events?
6. Why is it important to keep data and not throw it out at the end of a study?
