An educational consultant must recommend one of the following two educational products to the local the school district. The companies that created each product believe that their product will improve reading comprehension scores. Help determine which product should be recommended. In making a determination, it is important to consider the relative advantages and disadvantages of the two products with respect to sampling error, the result of the hypothesis test, the effect size and cost. To decide, you should consider all criteria and decide which should receive the most weight in your decision. For full credit, do more than just state the numerical values for the four criteria (and do more than just say which values are higher or lower), truly interpret what information these values convey. 0 The Reading Company (TRC) develops educational products that it tries to sell to school districts all across the United States. TRC prides itself on only marketing products that have been empirically supported by research. It has developed a new product that is designed to improve the reading comprehension ability of 3rd through 6th graders. The product costs $5,000 a year. To test their hypothesis that their product would improve reading comprehension, TRC's researchers took a random sample of 10 students from a school district that had a mean reading comprehension score ofpl = 400 (or = 65). The population of reading comprehension scores is normally shaped. After using the product for two semesters, here are the results of the reading comprehension scores for these 10 students (with o = .05): M = 432, z = 1.56, p = .059 (one-tailed), d = 0.49. 0 A rival company, World's Best Education Company (WBEC), developed a similar product, which costs $15,000 per year. To test their hypothesis that their product would improve reading comprehension, WBEC's researchers took a random sample of 81 students from the same school district, which had a mean reading comprehension score ofp = 400 (or = 65). Aer using the product for two semesters, here are the results of the reading comprehension scores for these 60 students (with o = .05): M = 416, z = 1.91, p = .023 (one-tailed), d = 0.25. Note: The following are short answer questions, NOT essay questions. You should be able to answer In 1-2 brief bullet points or sentences. Be BRIEF but SPECIFIC. How do the two products compare in terms of sampling error? (2pts) \\\\ How do the two products compare in terms of hypothesis testing results? (Zpts) // How do the two products compare in terms of effect size? (Zpts) How do the two products compare in terms of cost? (lpt) Which product should be recommended? On what did you most base your decision on? (Be sure to explaining your reasoning with references to sampling error, hypothesis testing, effect size, and cost.) (2pts) A
