Statutory Compilation Louisiana

Each student must prepare a compilation of statutory rules from the jurisdiction where the student plans to sit for the bar exam and practice. These rules must be in the paraphrased form in the student's own words, rather than merely downloaded statutes. The objective of this assignment is to assist each student in learning the rules of his or her state in the context of the general rules taught in the course. Each student is responsible to know both what is covered in class and his or her state rules. The organization of the course materials is an excellent guide for the structure of this assignment. You may wish to include general rules in your compilation for comparative and exam preparation purposes. This compilation has no page limit, but will likely be more than 10 pages, and need not exceed 30 pages, though the outer limit will vary by student. Please include your name and your state on the front of your assignment.

7. Family Violence (Protective Orders for Marital and Non-marital Cohabitants)

10. Custody & Visitation (Third Party or Grandparents Rights, Best Interests, UCCJEA, Modifications and Enforcement of Custody Visitation)

11. Child Support (Guidelines [do not include all the numbers; just the general statute regarding guidelines], Modification and Enforcement)

12. Divorce (Grounds, Defenses, Separation Agreements, Property Division [Equitable Distribution or Community Property], Tax Consequences]
