To answer this question, the Longitudinal Study of Young People in England surveyed 10,000 high-school-age students. Each student was asked which area of study would most likely lead to a job in the future. Consider the three general areas, one of which represents STEM programs, shown in the table. The number of males, females, and all students selecting each area are also shown.
