Step 2:
Section Sort
a. Follow the instructions on Sort with the choice of Refrigerator, Closet or Bathroom.
b. Take a picture of the choice (Before picture)
c. Proceed to sort all items into 1. Used Daily 2. Used Weekly 3. Used monthly or longer 4. Not used that you can remember. 5. Spoiled, expired, garbage.
d. Sort into these 5 sections. Take a picture.
e. If you have partners that share the Refrigerator, Closet or Bathroom, have them present when you sort into the 5 sections. Have them participate and agree.
f. Items that are used Daily and Weekly, keep in the area chosen. (R,C or B). For items used monthly or yearly, put aside in a box. Section 5, Spoiled, expired, garbage, throw out (if agreement with partners or keep separate). Take Picture
g. Explain the difficulty or ease of this exercise and anything you learned.
Step 3:
Section Set in Order
a. Identify which items are Daily and Weekly
b. Identify the locations that the items should be that allows them to be accessed most frequently. Ie closet, most used, closest to the closet door. Refrigerator, in door or front of shelf, bathroom, closest to sink, shower etc.
c. Do NOT put these things in place yet.
d. Explain the difficulty or ease of this exercise and anything you learned.
Step 4:
Section Shine
a. Clean the area well.
b. Remove any damaged things.
c. Ensure that items in step 3, part a, are in good condition, not broken, but clean and neat.
d. Take Picture of Cleaned area.
e. Place items from step 3, part a, in place. Organize items that are similar in the same spot.
f. Take Picture of newly staged area.
g. Explain the difficulty or ease of this exercise and anything you learned.
Step 5:
Section Standardize
a. For items from section 3, part a, that you have now placed, DRAW a diagram of the Closet, Bathroom or Refrigerator, and identify where each item from Step 3, a, is placed.
b. For each item, on a separate sheet, list these items Step 3(a), and identify how many of each item should be present, and when you need to replace/purchase.(Review KANBAN and use it to explain)
c. Explain the difficulty or ease of this exercise and anything you learned.
Step 6:
Section Sustain
a. Take the picture of Step 4(f) completed, and AFTER 3 days, take the picture again.
b. Identify anything that has changed between the two pictures.
c. Review the picture in Step 4(f) and the picture from Step 6(a)
d. Identify the differences (i.e. what changed in the 3 days.)
e. Explain the difficulties in maintaining/sustaining your steps ie looking like the picture in Step 4(f)
f. Explain the steps you need to take to sustain the picture in Step 4(f)
Please complete these sections in your report and FOLLOW each step above. Provide your pictures in your report for each section.
