Step 1: Create a Template

Before you even jump into the research aspect of this activity, take a moment to structure your slideshow presentation. This way, once you complete the research it will be simple to insert your findings into your presentation and add the finishing touches!

Your presentation should be structured as follows (or very similar to this):

• Introduction slide
  • Your name & name of the presentation
• Three different types of lodging establishments, one slide for each:
  • One image of each
  • One real life example of each
  • Describe the type of hospitality and tourism consumer that might choose this type of establishment (motivation, needs, and expectations)
  • Describe what the front desk functions at each type of establishment might look like
  • Describe the organizational structure for at least one department at each type of lodging establishment (facilities and engineering, food and beverage, human resources, controller/finance, sales and marketing, security and rooms/housekeeping)
• Three types of ownerships structures, one slide for each:
  • One image for each
  • A brief explanation of each
  • One advantage of each type of ownership
  • One disadvantage of each type of ownership

Step 2: Research, Input, Create

Now that you know what you will need to research, you can start exploring online and seeking out all of the information.

You may choose to take notes while researching and then input the information into your slides afterward or you may decide to input the information as you find itthe choice is yours!

You are welcome to add your own elements of creativity to the slideshow with transitions or additional pictures and graphics. As long as all of the required information is included any additional flair is completely acceptable (but not required).

You may use bullet points for the majority of information if you would like or you may use complete sentences/paragraphs.
