Case Summary

The Bellerive Hotel located in New Orleans has a General Manager named Taylor Castillo. Taylor never follows rules and always has her own way. Taylor is so set in her practices that no one, not even corporate headquarters has been able to lay a hand on her. Due to this fact, she has been given the surname of Teflon Taylor, because she appears to be untouchable. Taylor has assigned one of her workers, Yusuf Sadiq, the Director of Operations, with discharging another worker. Yusuf is one of the few people who get along with her. As per Taylor's request, Yusuf must fire Cliff, a room service director, Isabella a server, or both. She said she heard that a room service manager named "Cliff something" was "banging" one of the servers named Isabella who works for Cliff. Yusuf told Taylor that he would look into it and report back to her but, Yusuf knows Cliff well, Cliff is one of his best employees and he knows about Cliff's relationship with Isabella; everyone does. When he returned to her office after talking with Cliff and Isabella, he told Taylor that he could not do what she wanted him to do, that nothing about their affair interferes with their work or bothers the other staff. He told Taylor "It would be grossly unfair to fire either of them," he told her. "Well how about this," she said, "it would be grossly unfair for me to fire you, but unless one of them is gone by end of shift, you are out on your ass." Now Yusuf has a decision to make.
