Step One: The Office of the National Coordinator for HealthInformation Technology (ONC) Health IT Certification Program helpsto ensure that health IT conforms to the standards andcertification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and HumanServices. The Office of Health IT Certification was established todevelop and oversee national programs for the certification ofhealth information technology by the Health Information Technologyfor Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. Health ITcertification provides assurance to purchasers and other users thata system meets the technological capability, functionality, andsecurity requirements. Step Six: Once in the eRx tool, click on the green"Start ONC testing" button to use the tool.

Step Seven: Following the instructions online, gointo a Test Case and a Test Step. Take a screenshot of theexample message that you see.

Step Eight: Submit your screenshot, along with a 2-3page summary detailing what you learned as you reviewed the ONCcriteria for grading. Ensure that you include a discussion of theimportance of the concepts of vocabulary, language, terminology,and nomenclature. Your summary with screenshot should be inMicrosoft Word format. Cite all sources in APA format.
