The team gladly accepted - paying the $1,000 entry fee. wered its out of For accommodations, Coach Beeler entered into a contract with the Best Value Inn in Dallas for a total of $1,500 to house the team for the three nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights) of the competition - paid in advance. The team arrived on Friday and attempted to Flag check in to the hotel. The hotel was overbooked and sent the team away. stion Luckily, Coach Beeler was able to find alternate accommodations at the Worst Value Inn across the street at a cost of $2,700 - again, paid in advance and stated to be non-cancellable. Coach Beeler had planned on cooking a warm-up meal for Friday night in the room at the Best Value Inn, but the Worst Value Inn had no kitchens. He was forced to take his team out to eat at the "I'm Not a Cracker Barrel" restaurant at a cost of $375. The Best Value Inn repaid Coach Beeler $1,000 of his payment, but kept the remaining as a "non-refundable fee". The team made the first day of the competition and performed admirably (the description of which I shall spare you all). However, on Saturday evening all of the team members began to feel a bit ill - and each turning a strange shade of orange in their faces. Not deterred from this momentous opportunity, the team rallied and attempted to compete on Sunday morning. When they arrived at the competition, they noticed that half the other teams had the same issues and facial shade of orange. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) immediately arrived and found the teams were suffering from a rare mutated strain of the Carrotine Virus. A highly contagious virus communicable by looking at one another. The virus went city wide on Sunday afternoon, closing all hotels and restaurants in Dallas. The CDC immediately ordered the closing of the competition and ordered all participants to leave Dallas and go back home with sunglasses on their eyes (to avoid looking at anyone else) and quarantine at home for 12 days. Coach Beeler sent requests to the Best Value Inn and the Worst Value Inn for repayment of the charges made and to the organizers of the competition for repayment of their fee.
