Stories are a powerful persuasion tool. Research shows that we recall the basics of stories and their goals more easily than we are able to recall statistics or data. For example, we have more difficulty remembering the exact percentage or stats related to what you talk about, but we'll remember basics points of a story. Karen Eber refers to this when she talks about neural coupling. She also states "Data doesn't change our behavior; emotions do." This is the importance of pathos!
