Strategy 1. Use consequences that already exist in the natural (generalized) environment and teach behavior to the level required by natural contingencies 2. Provide the child with a physical prompt that will remind or guide him or her in performing the behaviors in the natural environment (contrive a mediating stimulus) 8. Include in the behavior training verbal cues that the child can give him or herself in the new situation (teach self-management skills) 9. Teach sufficient stimulus examples 10.
