• Present content in a way that conveys meaning and is consistent with the conventions of a given communicative context.

The purpose of this semester-long assignment will be for you to complete an inquiry project based on a social issue of your choosing. With the overall assignment you will be asked to demonstrate that you can complete a number of specific steps of the inquiry process over the course of the semester. The steps/assignments for the entire project are outlined below. Full instructions for each step/assignment will be given out individually.

1. Choose a Topic based on a relevant current social issue of your choosing.

• For this assignment you will write about your topic, your interest in it, and its relevance and importance.
