Students will choose a topic below - one that they found particularly interesting. Students will identify the concept, describe the concept, and explore examples of how the concept has been used in a real-world example in relation to academic literature (peer-reviewed research). Please do the following in your post (500 words or less).

TOPICS:

• What is cultural safety - how do you create cultural safety in your teams/organization? Why is it important in our workplaces today? Thich Nat Hanh describes a Culture of Compassion (a story about lettuce), Dr. Brene Brown and Simon Sinek also share research about culture. I particularly like Daniel Coyle's book Culture Code you may find examples there.
• Team performance - how do you engage team members to be trustworthy, share accountability, show integrity, and perform high-quality work equally? How do you engage organizational citizenship behaviour within your team? If there is a lack of motivation or apathy amongst a team - how do you pull members out of a slump back into feeling valued and performing?
• Google did some research on teams that you might find helpful.
• Other topics you would like to explore research about (related to our course chapters) - please email me for approval by Monday, Oct. 24.

For any of these topics, introduce an example or personal experience, and share what you are doing currently and how you can change your approach in future based on the research you have found/learned. What will you do?

For online discussion, please adhere to the following protocol:

1. Participation is a requirement of this course. Students provide one post introducing their key concept from the chapter(s) for the week in 500 words or less, with references to the textbook and two other supporting materials in APA format (e.g., Nelson & Quick, 2018, p. 17).
2. Respond to two of your peer posts with thoughtful affirming or contradictory thoughts in a respectful way. Ask great questions!
3. Provide a thoughtful and meaningful approach to posts and ensure quality contributions:
   • Stay on topic, and ensure thoughts and ideas are logically constructed,
   • Show respect and inclusion, and
   • Ensure correct grammar and sentence structure.
