Students will research an area of sport law and write a 1,500-word paper that integrates the research with one specic sport or recreation topic. Students will compose a thesis that unies the research, using the ndings to support the paper's main ideas. A minimum of three (3) academic articles/books and two (2) cases must be cited. The paper should have a title and references page (these are not included in the word count) in current APA style. A successful paper will demonstrate the following: - Identies a relevant research topic, area of law, and a thesis that provides direction for the paper that is engaging and thought provoking. - A sophisticated understanding and careful, critical analysis of the research topic, area of law, cases, and thesis (argument). - Compares/contrasts perspectives, considers counter arguments or opposing positions, and draws original and thoughtful conclusions with future implications. - Provides compelling and accurate evidence to support indepth the central position beyond the required research sources with at least 3 academic sources (journal articles and books) and 2 cases. - Research sources are highly relevant, accurate, and reliable and add to the strength of the paper, and are effectively referenced and cited throughout the paper. - A well-structured and presented assignment (including clear logic and organization, professional presentation, as well as accurate spelling, grammar, and APA referencing style)
