-Total number of days (range: 10-14 days) Travel days getting in and out of the country Be mindful of any additional travel time you may need to go from various places in the country. Really do research to determine best mode of transportation to get to different cities and tourist sights, how long it will take, etc. Make a decision of how much time will be spent at each city, tourist attraction, etc. Although you do not have to plan out every single hour that students would be traveling abroad, each day should have sufficient detail and planning that includes wake-up/leave time from where students are staying, travel times, blocks of time for sights and whether or not they are related to the course or 'just for fun,' times for meals, and time when the 'official day' ends (i.e., when students return to where they are staying for the night or when free time for students to explore independently begins that day). Across the entire itinerary anywhere from 1.5-3 "free days" for students to explore independently. These days do not have to be consecutive or even full days (e.g., three half days would add up to 1.5 free days). Month/Season of travel; be mindful that depending on where you are going, their summer might be our winter and vice versa Accommodations; when studying abroad, there tends to be two options: staying in various hotels and dorms; and host families. Staying with a host family often implies that you will have a 'home base' and primary city where you will stay, venturing out within the city and on daytrips that are close enough where students will return 'home' at the end of the day. Staying in various hotels and other temporary accommodations is often aligned with significant travel between cities and locations within a country where it would not be feasible to return to the same city each day.
