Subject: Accounting Information system

Ministry of Education Malaysia decided to implement a relational database system. The system is capable to link all students details who are registered at the public schools. The system is also capable of churning through students massive amounts of data to provide public education officers on the information of students performance and to develop education strategy framework more effectively.

The public primary school and secondary school teachers are familiar in filling teaching materials and students performance manually. The new system requires the teachers to use a computer to fill in all the required data in the system. After one month implemented this new system, a lot of complaints received from the teachers. Especially veteran teachers and who has little or no experience using a computer.

Most of the complaints stated the system was not user-friendly, the process in the system is too slow, complex and involved multiple screens. They also mentioned they did not feel properly trained on the system. After listening to the teachers complaints for a year, the Ministry of Education clearly had to do something.
