Salaries at SMS There are 48 full time academics at Sydney Management School. Their contracts specify a base salary which sets the minimum they receive, bouthe school may increase this at their discretion. Their mean base salary in 2010 was K$100pa, the standard deviation of their base salary was K$19.7 and so the coefficient of variation (CV) was 19.7%. The school was doing quite well financially and the academics received salary increments as described below. (The data are in worksheet SMS in class_prep3.xlsx though there is no need at all to use this data in order to answer the following questions.) (a)In 2010, they receive a salary increment of k$10 each on base salary. What was the mean and standard deviation of salaries? (b)In 2011, they receive a salary increment of 10% each on base salary. What is the mean and standard deviation of salaries? (c) In 2012, they receive salary increments on base salary which vary across the 48 academics. Those with higher salaries receive a higher % increase than those on lower salaries. The average of the 48 salary increments was 10%. What can you say about the mean and stdev of salaries compared to part (b)?* (d)In 2013 increments are altered to be \"progressive\" in the sense that those on lower salaries receive the higher increments.
