The Scope of work is the statement that describes in detail, all the work you will do. For example, if you are planning a wedding and need to get flowers, food, and a DJ. The scope of work (sow) would be something like this:

Research flower companies, make a short list, visit the companies, select one company, and order flowers.

Research catering companies make a short list, visit the companies, select a caterer, choose your menu..............................and so on...............

The reason we do it this way is because all of these activities take time and the sum of all these activities will tell you when you will finish the project. This week I am not looking for you to estimate the time it will take to do these activities. Just do a good job describing the SOW.
