Assignment 2:

There are two parts to our SOC 135 final assignment: a 650-word minimum (about 3-4 pages doubled spaced) report and a 1-page handout on your report.

Both parts of the assignment are due by the end of Friday, April 19.

PART A (Essay)

1. Choose a country from the list of countries included below.
2. Choose a topic in global economics that we have worked with this term from the list of topics included below.
3. Produce a 650-word minimum report that shares three insights on your chosen topic in your chosen country.
4. You will want to select three points to focus on for your insights. You will address these three insights in one paragraph each in your report.
5. You will need to conduct research for this report. You may use any of the points, ideas or sources you have worked with for your journal or discussion posts.
6. For example, if you select Canada as your country and international trade as your topic, your report's three insights might include 1) protectionism in Canada, 2) absolute and comparative advantage in Canada and 3) effects of international trade on jobs in Canada.
7. Remember to cite your sources and include a references page following APA.

Structure your report using this format:

1. Title Page
2. Introduction (120-150 words) introduce your country, topic and the three insights you will share.
3. Insight Paragraphs (3x 150 words) share your each of your insights in one paragraph each. Include any charts, illustrations, or figures here as well. At the end of each paragraph, include why this insight is important what does this insight tell or show us?
4. Conclusion (50-100 words) what do your insights, when taken together, tell us about your country's current economic situation and future outlook?
5. APA References Page

PART B (Handout)

Using your report as a guide, produce a well-organized, easy-to-read handout on your three insights.

1. Include your country and topic at the top of your handout.
2. Include the key takeaways from each of your three insights the most important points from your report.
3. Include visual elements like photos, tables, charts, etc.
4. Be creative!

You may use any software of your choice to produce the handout word processors like Google Docs, Microsoft Word/Office, or online tools like Canva or VistaCreate.
