Suggest an algorithm for how you could do something like that in software, which would include checking the English dictionary to see if 1) the resulting "word" is even a real word and 2) if the definition mentions any of the words or phrases in the clue. Do you think it would be possible to write software to complete the entire crossword puzzle from beginning to end?
