Sugu died recently. Upon his death, a brown cardboard box was found in which he had left a will, bequething his entire estate to his childhood friend, Kiki. He has no surviving relatives. The will is in the French language. Sugu wrote his name in capital letters to represent his 'signature' to the will. This 'signature' was witnessed by two persons, Lian Lian and Beng Beng. The signing of the will took place at Lian Lian's office. While they were witnessing the signing of the will in the office, Lian Lian went outside to the reception area to answer an urgent phone call. Beng Beng then signed the will as the first witness while Lian Lian answered the phone call. When Lian Lian returned, Beng Beng pointed to his signature and told Lian Lian to put her signature next to his (Beng Beng's) signature. Sugu was still present in the office and acknowledged his signature to both Beng Beng and Lian Lian by simply pointing at his signature. Lian Lian then put her signature next to Beng Beng's signature. Discuss whether there is a valid will under section the Law of Succession Act.
