Suman is a farmer. He sells and delivers vegetables to the neighbouring markets. He wishes to buy a new jeep and visits Mark, a jeep dealer. Suman immediately falls in love with a vehicle known as a Lotuss Ivora, which Mark describes as 'the most reliable jeep on the road'. He asks Mark about the age of the vehicle. Mark consults the Lotuss Ivora's documentation and sees that it is written in French. Mark's French language skills are very basic but he makes an attempt at deciphering the information and eventually informs Suman that the jeep is 'brand new'. Suman glances at the registration plate of the vehicle and notices that the registration would suggest that the vehicle is older than Mark has claimed. Suman suspects, but is not certain, that Mark has given him incorrect information about the age of the jeep. Suman decides to buy the jeep anyway. Over the course of a few weeks, various defects appear in the jeep which costs Suman 2,000 to repair. Finally, one morning the jeep will not start and Suman is forced to spend 500 on rental cars that week to deliver the vegetables to the market. He then finds out that the jeep is not brand new but is instead ten years old. Advise Mark as to his potential liability to pay damages for misrepresentation.
