Summarize a current political or government related issue found in The New York Times, the Washington Post, NPR.org, or on PBS NewsHour. (Students wishing to use another news source may simply email the instructor to receive approval prior to completing the assignment.)

The purpose of the discussion paper is to allow students to examine and evaluate current public administration related topics.

Each paper should include the following:

1) identify a topic related to public administration or nonprofit management,

2) identify key actors (who is involved),

3) summarize the main points and identify any controversies, and

4) give a conclusion in which the issue is evaluated.

In addition to the news article/segment, students should identify one additional reference to include in the paper.
