Sunita bought a new fridge/freezer for 700.00 from homerefurbishment.com ('Home Refurb'), an online retailer based in London. She paid an extra 20.00 for express delivery within 7 days.

Sunita agreed to Home Refurb's standard terms and conditions after the money had been paid. These terms and conditions stated that Home Refurb was not liable for any delays in the delivery of goods, and that the customer was responsible for checking the goods for defects before delivery was complete. It further stated that Home Refurb should be notified of any defect within 5 working days, following which the customer could choose a repair or a replacement.

Sunita also bought a brand-new toaster from a local market trader called Terry, for 30.00. Terry's stall was called 'Electronics R Us' and Sunita thought that she was buying legitimate goods from Terry's stall.

Sunita has had some problems with her goods. The fridge/freezer was finally delivered two weeks after she purchased it. Although she checked the appliance before the driver left, it started making a whirring noise after a few days and did not maintain its temperature. Her aunt is an electrician, but she cannot work out how to fix it.

Sunita has also recently seen on social media that Terry has been arrested for selling stolen goods from his market stall, and Sunita thinks that the toaster she bought from him may actually have been stolen.
