Supplier has a contract with Factory to provide its needs for gidgets. Bata, a major competitor of Factory, hoping to disrupt Factory's production schedule, and to get Factory's customers, induces and pays one of Supplier's subcontractors to divert to Bata needed materials and to delay delivery of materials to Factory necessary for the production of gidgets by Factory. As a result, Factory sustains millions of dollars in losses when the gidgets cannot be promptly delivered.
