Suppose we want to collect $100$ bits packets from each of the $60$ wireless terminals, which transmit packets at x bps and one packet per a minute interval.

As the time duration to send one packet tp is tp$=100/$x$,$ let us suppose each wireless terminal chooses one of the x$/100$x$60$ time slots given by the access point, and transmit a packet. For example, if x $=100$ bps$,$ the number of time slots is $60,$ if x $=1000$ bps$,$ it is $600.$

If the number of wireless terminals is small, there will be lower chances of packet collisions. But even in such case, the probability of collision cannot be zero if we have more than two terminals, which results in backlog terminals.

Design a wireless multiple access system to collect the data packets with in one minutes as reliable as possible.
