Interview questions

To Administrative assistant:

1) What would you like to improve on the current scheduling system?

2) What information would a new system need to be able to predict the date of the new appointment?

3) When the system issues the report of predictable dates of appointments, what information should this report show?

4) It is possible for a new system to make automated calls or send messages via email to patients to remind them of their new appointment. What information should this message contain? How many times should it be sent. How many days in advance?

5) For how long should the system keep a patient's historical data? When should patient information be removed from the system? What criteria should be used to remove the information?

To Nurses:

1) Would it be useful for the system to present the historical evolution of the laboratory results and not just the latest results?

2) Should the system send automatically the laboratory results to the treating physician and the patient?

3) The new system is able to schedule the doctor's visits to hospitalized patients. How useful can this information be to do the job more efficiently? What information is useful to have on this report?

4) It is important to keep a record of the actions taken by the nurses with every patient. How do you record these actions in the current system? Are they recorded on paper? Do you have any device to record this information? Is it important to have all the actions taken by the nurses on each shift registered in the system? What information should be recorded?

5) Is it important that the treating physician receives the reports from the nurses via email prior to his/her visit to hospitalized patients?

6) The doctor may order changes in treatment. This information can be submitted online by the treating physician. What data should this report have?

To Doctors:

1) The system can provide the historical information of the patient's lab results. This information can be presented in graphs and highlight important deviations. When should you receive this information? What is can they be? Would you like to be able to request new exams online prior to your next patient visit in the hospital or appointment?

2) What information do you want to see in the nurses' report? It is possible to send this report to your email. Does this online information help you be better prepared and provide a better attention to patients?

3) The system can forecast the next appointments of your patients. What information do you want to see in this report? Do you want to see the report that you prepared in the last appointment, diagnosis and treatment?

4) The system can make automatic links between the main laboratories and their patients. Laboratories can send lab results immediately to the treating physician. What information or data (personal and results) do you want to see in this report?

5) First appointments require more time and dedication to collect and record patients personal data, reason for consultation, symptoms, diagnostic impression, and so forth. How should this information be arranged in the system so that it is easy to record, and making the system more user-friendly?
