SWOT / SWOTT is a very valuable tool, but only if used properly and accurately. If a company misses on what they think are strengths and weaknesses, they can be doing so at their own peril. An easy example is BLOCKBUSTER. Their SWOT told them that a strength was their many stores and convenience to the customer. Little did they knows that RED BOX was setting up at shopping locations, convenience stores with small digital Kiosks and set the new bar for convenience!!! What are more examples?
