Based on the information and readings presented in this weeks lecture material, submit the assignment by clicking on the "Module 4 Individual Assignment" link above. Please use the attached assignment template for your submission For questions 1-2 in addition to answering the specific question(s) asked, please also address the following: a) what gold strategy in the lectures taught applies to this problem? b) what lessons did you learn as you worked on this question? c) what similar problems have you seen in the workplace? 1. You are systems engineer asked to spend 9 months effort to create a new No SQL repository to house a new technical collection. Visibility for completion is high. There is no requirement to implement a solution to use the data. How do you proceed? 2. You are the systems engineer responsible for the global implementation of a state-of-the-art (only deployed operationally at one other site in the world) identity access commercial solution which is needed for a sensitive but unclassified network to meet mission needs. It is your lucky day and as you are leaving the lunchroom, you are approached by the Deputy CIO who asks for a 3 minute brief on the project because he has heard that the project is in severe trouble in a number of technical areas and he is not familiar with the scope of the project. What can you convey in the 3 minutes to provide an accurate status? (Share with him the latest project status report that you are lucky enough to have with you.) To answer this question, document a one-page project status report for each of the following scenarios: a. Project is well and CIO expectation is worse than it really is. b. Project is bad and CIO expectation is aligned with status. c. Project is worse than the CIO's bad expectation. 3. You are the lead systems engineer and have been asked to look at this mission support and make some recommendations. The new contractor supporting the Counterterrorism systems just made you aware that they are 6-9 weeks away from implementing an automated capability to fix 90% of critical message spill traffic. The new contractor has been on board for 5 weeks and when asked he researched and found that close to 900 messages are in the spill queue. Instead of allocating 3 FTE to work the spill queue like the previous contractor only one person is doing this work part time today. What alternatives do you consider and what recommendations do you make?
