Staff Meeting Minutes

Date - Tuesday, June 6, 2023

Attendance - Leah, Claudia, Sofia, Giulia, April, Sienna, Dominic

Minutes by - Leah

  1. Staff all confirmed that they have read and revised the policy for the month.

The policy was regarding 'Incident, Injury, Trauma, and Illness'.

Make sure that forms regarding Injury/Illness etc are filled in correctly!

2. Another discussion had regarding Staff that open early need to make sure that they are beginning the prep work for the day.

Cutting fruit, going through the morning checklist etc, ready for the day. The 2 early openers will need to work together until the children begin arriving and, in this case, (if ratios allow) 1 staff member should continue the prep whilst the other is with the children and greeting parents.

3. Revision of checklists and ensure that they are filled in correctly and remember to date each one. This includes the checklists in outdoor Area. The staff member who is on cleanup duty for the day needs to make sure that the baby's room is mopped daily. Some of the new babies that have just started are not yet walking, so we need to keep the floor as clean as possible.

4. Sandpit is being fixed on Saturday the 19th of June. Once this is done, Staff must remember to put cover over it at the end of each day. All toys must be taken out of the sandpit and put in a Plastic Tub and placed in the over cover area till the next day. Leah will order tubs.

5. The person doing the sandpit will also clean up outside area -

  • The side areas around the kindy need to be cleaned and weeds trimmed etc and all rubbish disposed of
  • The gate at preschool that leads down the ramp needs to be fixed as doesn't lock (the lock is missing)
  • The glass door in the ELC toilet that leads outside does not lock properly so this needs to be looked at

6. Daily Stories from ELC need to be all emailed to Leah as they need to be filed onto the computer in the 2023 folder.

7. Staff need to update their Poster with pic and info to put up on Cork boards in appropriate rooms.

8. Staff to start filing/collating children's artwork in order of dates etc so as to keep on top of it and avoid rush at end of year.

9. Change the artwork in classrooms regularly so it looks interesting and fresh and represents the most current and the current theme of the week.

10. Put up the new poster (with the theme of the week) under the title - 'We are Learning About'. Staff send Leah 1 -2 pics daily of group time to print and display here as well.

11. Staff to dispose of broken toys/books outside and replace with different ones from the classrooms. We want this area to feel more inviting and comfortable for the children (and everyone)

TASK 2:TO develop a QIP in the National Areas found

1. Ask open and closed questions and actively listen to seek information and confirm understanding;

2. Determine how key improvements will be reflected in the Service;

3. Identify and record one (1) contemporary principle or emerging trend/research to include in the Service delivery. This may be an area identified in MEETING staff. (e.g. emphasis on guidance of children's behaviour is away from behaviourism to intrinsic self-regulation);

4. Clearly and concisely record all of the information in the QIP template provided by ACECQA. This can be found on the ACECQA website. You only need to complete the pages associated with the Quality Areas chosen. General centre information not required.

5. Plan or on a regular basis to review the QIP and the implementation of strategies.
