Task 2. In June 1997, a delegation of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic handed over the heads of the Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament) appeal the president of the Chechen Republic with a request for recognition of the independence of the Chechen Republic. Similar appeals were referred also to the parliaments of Latvia and Estonia. Russian Foreign Ministry sent a note republics, which warned "about the extremely negative consequences" for bilateral relations in the case of a positive decision on the appeal of President of the Chechen Republic. What does the recognition of new states? In some cases, there is the question of recognition of states? Is there a reason for the recognition of Chechnya? Can Chechen Republic claim to be a nation that is fighting for independence? Will violated international law, if the country in question in the job, recognize Chechen Republic?
