Task Network Design and Plan
Use Packet Tracer to construct a network as depicted in Figure The IP addresses for each of the subnets,
except for the interrouter links, should be allocated using DHCP configured in the routers. You must use a
dynamic routing protocol such as RIP or OSPF: Static routes are a not permitted. Test your solution by using
ping between hosts in the same subnet and between hosts in a different subnet. Your report should
document the IP ranges for each subnet and describe your solution for routing between subnets and why you
chose that solution. Use simulation mode to send a message between T and R Disable the link between
Router North and Router East. Again, use simulation mode to send a message between T and R Describe the
changes in behaviour of your model. Discuss any shortcomings of the network design. Include screenshots of
simulation mode in your report.
Note: the red interrouter links are serial connections, whereas the red router to switch connections are optic
fibre links. The network uses the generic PT switches and routers. You may use other model switches or
routers if they support the required links.
