Task Instructions For this assessment, you are required to facilitate a self-assessment and develop a quality improvement plan for two (2) quality areas in an education care service, during your practical work placement. To assist you in gathering the required information you will be required to: Observe practices in the service * Access services policies and procedures relevant to Quality Areas 3 and 5 Observe children's interactions in the program * Discuss current practices with educators e Discuss current practice with families (if possible) Description of task/s There are three (3) parts to this assessment task. 1. You are to meet with your workplace supervisor to discuss time/dates/days etc. you will conduct a self-assessment of the centre on: o Quality Area 3 - Physical environment Task Instructions o Quality Area 5 - Relationship with children Once this discussion has taken place, and timelines set, you must carry out the following tasks: 2. PartA Access link: Quality Improvement Plan | ACECQA You are required to complete a self- assessment of: * Quality Area 3 - Physical environment * Quality Area 5 - Relationship with children Using the self-assessment tool. 3. PartB Access link: Quality Improvement Plan | ACECQA After completing Part, A, you are to develop a quality improvement plan for: Quality Area 3 - Physical environment * Quality Area 5 - Relationship with children Using the Quality Improvement Plan template. On completion of the self-assessment and Quality Improvement Plan, you are to check that you have completed all documentation accurately prior to sharing and discussing the completed forms with your workplace supervisor. To achieve a satisfactory result, you must address all criteria listed in Part A and Part B in full and to industry standard and provide a verified third-party report from your supervisor (Template supplied). Please note: This task is focused on continuous improvement within an ECEC (Early Childhood Education and Care) service environment. The purpose of the task is to ensure you can use the knowledge and skills you have developed to identify areas of improvement in the centre you are working. This process must be undertaken on an ongoing basis in industry to ensure the quality standards are always upheld. This task is being undertaken for educational purposes only and in no way should reflect negatively on the centre in which placement is undertaken or be seen as an audit of any kind. On completion of this task, you are required to submit the Self-assessment tool (Appendix 1), Quality improvement plan template (Appendix 2) and the fully completed Third Party Report to show you have completed Assessment Tasks 2 and 3 within the service
