Team Norms

Original Norms

  1. All team members take responsibility for their assigned tasks for the team project and produce quality work.
  2. Team members are capable of acknowledging their assignments and capable of accomplishing them.
  3. Team members finish their work promptly which has been established per meeting.
  4. Team members attend and participate in each meeting via Zoom unless there has been an unknown and critical situation that appeared for a team member.
  5. The team keeps each other accountable by checking each others' work and completing their tasks efficiently and proficiently.
  6. The team gives constructive criticism on all the decisions made for the future of the team, thinking critically about each one.
  7. Team members are actively listening and pay attention to the strengths of others to an impressive team project.
  8. There is unified approval of each team decision so there is no confusion or conflict down the line.
  9. There is respect and consideration between team members.
  10. All work will be double-checked by team members to make sure that it aligns with the team plan that was delegated beforehand.

Team Norm Revisions Explained

The team had looked into the team norms that we have agreed upon before to see if any changes need to be made during our fourth meeting and came to the conclusion that no revisions were necessary. They all encompassed what we believe is the makeup for an effective team and that it was what will guide us to completing our team project in a timely fashion.

Norm Non-Compliance Plan

  1. With the first strike in not complying with the norms that have been agreed upon with the team beforehand, the team member at fault will have a team meeting about their behavior. This will allow the team member to have a dialogue about what can be done, which established norms are being broken by the issue, and see if the team can help the team member to correct their path and behavior.
  2. With the second strike in not complying with the norms, there will be a one-on-one conversation with the team leader about their behavior and their work ethic. This conversation is necessary to show that this behavior cannot stand, and the team leader will have to emphasize the point that this habit is clashing with team norms and has to be immediately remediated.
  3. With the third strike in not complying with the norms, the team will have to reflect on the lacking team member's poor work ethic and behavior in the peer reviews, acknowledging that this team member did not act the way that they have consented to when creating the team norms.
