Terry works for an upmarket retailer, David Foys, as a store manager. Terry is well liked by customers, management, and most staff. Terry is charming, with an infectious laugh and a killer smile. Terry was recently featured in David Foy's newsletter in an article titled "Old School Customer Service Never Goes Out of Style".

Terry spends a lot of time on the floor, chatting with staff and occasionally working the registers. One of Terry's favourite haunts is the ladieswear section. Lucy is a university student who has recently started at David Foys, and is working in the ladieswear section, when she meets Terry for the first time. Terry introduces himself to Lucy and after a general chit chat, slaps her on the bottom as he leaves. Lucy is stunned and tells the other staff working in ladieswear what happened. Another staff member, Esmerelda, says to Lucy "that's called a Tezza pat. He does it all the time, but there's no point doing anything about it, everyone loves the old sleeze". Terry appears to take a liking to Lucy and gives her two more "Tezza pats" over the course of the next fortnight.

Lucy feels disgusted and humiliated and decides enough is enough, but doesn't know where to turn. Esmeralda, who has completed LEGL3111, tells Lucy to look into the option of a Stop Sexual Harassment Order under the Fair Work Act 2009.
