Thanks for your thoughtful posting as it was well received. Allow me to offer the following as a food for thought. A good leader should feel comfortable delegating a task, stepping back, observing, advising, and mentoring their team. Motivation and self-regulation can be reinforced in this Marine. Many Military leaders do not like to leave their comfort area. In my opinion, they have well-developed self-awareness skills, know themselves, know what has to be done, and what the "mission" needs. However, they limit themselves when they do not delegate and motivate their subordinate to develop their own leaders' skills. Find the balance between what makes you comfortable and when you should empower is a challenging task, but sometimes the risk makes you improve and develop other abilities. Thoughts
